Just Kuz Projects: apps for the people doing the actual work.
I'm an app developer based in South Africa. For the past year I've been designing and building the apps that run day-to-day operations for a facilities-management client: job tracking, cleaning, laundry, stock and procurement, used every day by a team of 30 field workers.
I didn't take the straight route into tech. After finishing school in 2019 it took me a while to work out what I wanted to do. Once I started building things, first games and small personal apps, then real tools for a real business, I knew this was it.
Most of what I've learned has come from shipping software people depend on. If a cleaner can't finish a checklist because the signal dropped, that's my problem to solve, so the apps I build save work offline and sync when the connection comes back.

2025 to now
App developer (freelance)
Facilities-management client
Sole developer for the company's internal staff apps. I handle everything from talking to staff about how they work, through design and build, to installing the apps and supporting the team afterwards.
- Simple Stock: supplier orders, book-in and book-out, stock takes and PDF reports, on desktop and tablet (redesign)
- Cove Laundry: QR basket ordering for guests, an item-by-item staff app and a manager dashboard
- Cleaning app: room-by-room checklists, photos, maintenance flags and manager sign-off
- Stock sign-out kiosk: a shared tablet for signing out maintenance stock
- Job tracking: the first app, logging field jobs to Google Sheets

Personal projects and games
Self-directed
A medication reminder app in React Native, The Last Conjuration (a horror game in Godot), a chess game for young kids in Java, and A Hangover to Remember, a comedy RPG Maker game I made as a gift for my D&D group. Some of these are on GitHub and itch.io.

How I work
I start with the people using it
Before writing any code I find out how the job is done today: who does it, on what device, and where it goes wrong.
You see something working early
You get a rough working version within the first couple of weeks, not a long spec document, so we can change direction cheaply.
Security from day one
Every app gets access rules on its data from the start, so staff only see what they should and customers can't see each other's details.
Built for real conditions
Patchy signal, shared tablets, gloves, cracked screens. Big buttons, offline saving and nothing that needs a manual.
